Today I wrote about Tattoos in the Workplace for my Monday SG column, which focuses on the popular Associated Press article of the past week on tattooed and pierced white collar workers that has everyone's panties in a bunch.

I should really do a count of all the emails and messages I've received from people over the years -- either through Needled.com or my BME articles -- asking me to take their discrimination law suit cases. They obviously have never really read what I wrote because I have no sympathy for people having to wear long sleeves, etc. Big whoop! I do it half the week and guess what happens, nothing. In fact, the luxury of not having to answer questions about my tattoos is one I relish.

Still, I'd love to hear more comments from others. Some people already said some very thoughtful things on how they view the issue.

I worked in the corporate world for a few years. At every interview I went to, I wore long sleeves, and as I felt it out, my closing statement of the interview would always be "So, just to let you know, I'm tattooed.", and would roll up the arms. I landed a great job at a software company doing accounting, and they were totally open and couldn't care less about my work. It was a small company, so within the first two weeks of employment, I had answered all the "so what's that" questions.

I have no sympathy for people complaining about their tattoos in the workplace. If you can't get around the issue, and it's going to dramatically and negatively impact your life, don't fucking get tattooed.

/end wine induced rant.
