I rarely wear a suit, but when I lived in Philly I made a point of going to my favorite smoky, hipster-infested dive bar (owned by a friend of mine), post-performance while in formalwear or a nice Italian suit. The staff and regulars always gave me the usual "Cheers" style welcome, the others were amusingly bewildered.
Nothing like challenging the perceptions of those who believe they are challenging the "normal people's" perceptions.
