Thanks to the free availaibility of guns, over 80 Americans are shot dead every day. That's by far the highest rate anywhere in the developed world. Yet when something like Virginia Tech occurs, TV stations seem mystified about why this kind of thing happens - and even more mystified about how to stop it.
