An open letter to John Lydon:
Dear Mr. Rotten,
My name is Colin and I have a problem, they are called Good Charlotte. You see they are the last sign of the apocalypse. I have a feeling the CIA might have placed them here to destroy our childrens brains and do away with any future individual thoughts. You see mr. rotten, they are what we here in the US of A call mall punks. They are ruining kids minds at record pace. They look the part (it isnt very punk to look a part is it?), they certainly play the user friendly version of modern day punk (again, not punk) and speak of rebelling against society. I know, it doesnt seem that bad but I am pretty sure that the long term effects of this bands success could be devastating for America and therefore the world. They turn easily moldable teenagers into cookie cutter versions of themselves and drill them with the safest rebellion of them all, an aesthetic one. So why am I writing this to you? Well, as we prepare for war, the free thinkers (real punks?) in this country have to come to grips with the fact that we share our land with a lot of really stupid people being lead by a close minded, god fearing, gun toting war monger without an original thought in his head who is just dying to kill some sand n*****. I thought maybe you could come back from the parody that you have become and help kids who could very easily become the free thinkers of the future. Teach them what punk is about, the punk you invented, you know individuality and all that. Teach them punk is not an outfit or a sound, it is a challenge of conventional thought. Not the challenge that GC poses, that is conventional thought dressed silly clothes and tattoos. The real thing.no future..all that. Think about it, but please respond quickly before their 3rd single is released.by then it might be too late.
I forgive you for the sex pistols reunion tour, I know you needed the money. PIL ruled!

My journal today is cut from the same sense of shock. Actually, Good Charlotte has to be the biggest payola scandal to hit the industry in years. They are on MTV non-fucking-stop and they suck beyond measure. They kill happy children and turn them into pod people...
