I am full of resolve after my weekend of Buddhism. This week has been all about yoga and meditation. (And see-through garments and ribbon... the reason for this will become apparent at length.)

I am not prepared to become a Buddhist. When I say not prepared I mean I do not want to. I think I like my ego a little much to become a Buddhist. Also I am not prepared to accept the rituals involved - the prayers and prostration. I grew up Catholic, and have a healthy aversion to all such rituals as a result. All of that chruchness and rituals are tied to my parents in my mind, their authoritarian ideas and unthinking acceptance of religion. I don't like my parents and accepting Buddhist rituals takes me too close to that. (I realise this does not wholly make sense.)

What I am prepared for is stretching my mind, focussing my self, and making the most of this borrowed time I have.

I am currently without sufficient income, but frankly not looking for more. Well I am looking, but in the most perfunctory way. I have decided to put it off until I get back from New York - mid May, at which time I will be truly desperate. ARRR!!! Arr, I know I may be asking for trouble, but I have never had a problem finding money when I really need it, so I'll trust that luck will not change.

Update:
I'm looking for a flat swap in Manhattan for May 11-17, pref somewhere below 22nd... if anyone knows anyone who might want to spend that week in a very small but lovely flat in London then get in touch. kiss
