Its a good thing.

good to know the girly panic is somewhat under controle, even if the taxes are not.
I'm ok. This is my situation today: I've worked on the show The Sopranos for the past 6 years. We took a year off and go back for one final season in April. Since then I've bounced around, worked on a few movies, and finally found a steady job at Law and Order.
But I decided today to quit and go back for one more year at Soprnos. I love it there so much. I just have to figure out how to quit.
but otherwise good. just ordered Indian food for lunch and eagerly awaiting it's arrival.

I think that's a brilliant idea! I'm gonna go do it right now!
Upside down, seems to be developing into some kind of theme for me at the moment...
So a little more about my weekend is in order:
Friday night was super-ace fun. Hugo's Speaker Palace is always a great venue, run by a lovely man named Hugo, funnily enough. It's kind of a warehouse space in possibley the dodgiest street in Hackney, more often roped-off with...

when i'm so busy that i can't hang around SG, i'm constantly reminded of Carl the Assistant Groundskeeper (played by Bill Murray) in "Caddy Shack". at one point his boss catches him loafing (actually, stroking) and screams at Carl, asking him where he's been.
Carl's reply, and my feeling right now: "i was unavoidably detained."
i've been so freakin' busy the last 4 days--a rush of creative pursuits at work that have left me drained, helping my friend move her belongings and, today, checking her into drug rehab. whew.
i remain drained this evening, with another day just like today in store tomorrow.
i don't mind in the least that you've investigated who i am by reading journals. i do the same with new "friends" and it's led to deeper and more meaningful communication. it's also led to snappier conversation, too, because we've gotten a sense of what's allowable and what's not--such as discussion of your effect on my trousers.
i'm much better aware today of who i am. there's more to that story, but i think my journal a couple days ago explains the why. i've quite simply stepped out of my own limitations as i worked to become less of an introvert.
more or less....
what a party life you live. i couldn't keep up with that. not in the least!

that sounds like a g.r.e.a.t weekend - fun, excitement and success in many different ways. and there is NOTHING like a good breakfast to finish a night off with
i really like how you write about your friends - tis really nice and warm
oh yes, i had a weekend too, didnt i? not that you needed or wanted to know, but like you i think I'm getting quite hooked on this place! - writing things I havent a clue who it is going to be read by..
my weekend was spent..mincing, to be honest, catching up on reading, films, beavering through music, rediscovering songs - stuff like that. went to the saatchi gallery on saturday, and then the plan was a wander down the river, but it was so cold and windy that I decided to save my ears!
i'm off the alcohol for a couple of weeks. i'd like to say that its for financial reasons, but i brought so much back with me after xmas, that its no excuse!
xmas was unusually messy, and february/march sees the 'season of birthdays' - that period of the year where everyone seems to have their birthdays withing a 4 week period, so just thought i'd take it easy..
cheers for the friend request, too
toodles

yes I've been doing some research and have come to the conclusion that 'its all about the harmonica'. i'll make it my mission to spread the sound of jailhouse blues around the jubilee line..this will of course lead to drunken blasts of Last of the Summer Wine and the theme tune from Huckleberry Finn..
you're right - too many resolutions will lead to lapses in concentration, leading to delays, broken promises and dreams, then resulting in shame and guilt spirals..keep it simple
nice dancing picture. what music were you dancing to? in my mind, its the 'monster mash', but i'm sure it wasnt that!

hah. very amusing, and definately spooky too..thats my psychic powers used up for another year..
i think you can make an exception with the dj/dancing multitasking - nothing like the DJ showing the crowd how its done

the image of you up-ended had led to a certain tumescence in my trousers and wishes you were nearby. spent and sore, indeed!

Definitely feeling better today, so I'm going to allow myself another one of those licorice papers.
There's a gale blowing outside, so I'll have to ready myself to venture out into it. Right now I'm wearing the lovely fluffy robe R gave me for xmas and sipping ginger lemon and honey, which is no way to prepare for a typhoon. (ok, slight exaggeration, the wind...

Staying at home is Nice.
Enjoying a nice rollie with those lovely licorice papers, tho i'm sure it will do terrible things for my cough.
As a nice contrast to all the stay-at-home I went into town today, and walking through my neighbourhood I realised that I have achieved a goal I'd never recognised in myself: my life is currently quite picturesque, and has been...

(but it's not even 10 o'clock yet, geez ma!)

that is one fine example of "flight of thought".
i've noticed two things i must comment on, no, three things.
first, if you read this tonight, you're not in bed. go back to bed, young lady! you need your rest!
second, the pillow stuffed behind the headboard tells a story that needs no words.
third, i keep coming back to your vices--alcoholism and one night stands. is that a veiled cry for attention and/or help? or is it perhaps more of an invitation to all comers?

Thats a great tatt, a cross between a peacock and some sort of plant ? Any chance of bigger piccies of them ?
escottie:
wouldn't you know it...you take down the other pictures and immediately signit wants to see more.
greetings and felicitations, M. i indeed did not immediately recognize your name, but the signature is exceedingly similar to one i received in my e-mail this morning.
[[as an aside, be warned that when you mail someone here via their contact tab, your real e-mail address appears at the other end. SG doesn't warn you of that.]]
here does seems to be a place, as much as a coffee shop or neighborhood pub. the people you meet become very real, whether you're observing from a distance or talking with them.
here is so real that you can also make friends that magickly appear in real life, and even do things like touch, hear and smell them. yes, pinocchio, you CAN become a real boy!
here on the tundra of minnesota, we have a core group of 15 or 20 SG members and official Suicide Girls that get together at least once a week for breakfast, drinks, karaoke, music and what not. the SGUK group is also very active. you shouldn't hesitate....
it's currently the middle of the workday here (i'm London minus 7), so i have to get busy. but i will stop by to say hello again later....
cheers.
