Thanks to all of you fellow Chicagoans who felt my pain regarding the whole car towing situation. Much appreciated comments all.
This weekend I played tour guide to a friend visiting from out of town. We went to coffee shops, museums, etc. It was freezing, but the sun was shining and we had good music in the car which always makes Lake Shore Drive seem more like a west coast drive. All in all, the weekend renewed my faith in the city, and the fact that it's beauty outweighs the ugliness of it's auto pounds.

There is a 3 part documentary about Chicago on PBS this week. Part one aired last night. Check it out if you get the chance. It made me really proud to live here - if nothing else but the rich history.
