Yesterday, I have to say, was quite lovely. Ms Mary K and I went to the best there is, Backdoor Bakery, for morning deliciousness, then shelled out for the *deluxe* spa pedicure and manicure up the street. After I got all beautified, I met Nick and Allegra at UCB for Allegra's improv class performance. Nick and I went into the used record store where I bought $40 worth of vinyl and still couldn't talk to the boy behind the counter. Afterwards, the three of us headed to Cafe 101 for food and jukebox, then back to UCB for an especially stellar Asssscat lineup. Oh Andy Daly. We're such comedy dorks that we went to my house and did improv after the show. It was probably one of the nerdiest things I have done in my life (which is saying a lot), but fun and surprisingly funny. Allegra wants me to go do improv at UCB with her tonight but I just don't know. I haven't done it in years and reckon I'd be too shy to. We'll see I guess.
Must buy a fan for my apartment today.
ALSO! Apparently the KXLU Fundrazor is going to be fucking amazing this year. $15 at the Echo on Sunday:
Wires on Fire, Cass McCombs, Mika Miko, Lavender Diamond, Irving, Abe Vigoda, and tons more. Very exciting.
I am coming to terms with the fact that I am very self-centered. But then again, to some extent, isn't everybody?
Jim Guthrie feels tragic right now.
