Alkaline Trio is one of those band that, no matter how "unhip" or "not indie" or whateverthefuck they're accused of being, I will not fail to stick up for. I may not listen to them nearly as much now as I did a few years ago, but they still mean a lot to me. No matter how hokey it may sound, this is a band that kept me going through extremely hard times where the going got really tough. They're good musicians and great lyricists. Also, I blame Matt Skiba (as well as Billy Joe Armstrong) for making me completely retarded for boys in red ties or shirts and/or tight black punk pants. Those pants...jesus. Whew. I replaced my lost copy "Godamnit" tonight (arguably their best album) and have been listening to their whole catalogue for the last few hours. Also, you should check out DownloadPunk. I went for one Alkaline Trio album and left with Impossibles, Dub Narcotic Sound System, The Extra Glenns, Capn Jazz....It's a great site for replacing long lost albums, plus it's run by Hopeless/Sub City who do fantastic things for a lot of charities.
