If someone decides to brush aside the tumbleweeds and venture onwards towards my blog I'm hoping that they might have some experience of External Hard Drives...

I'm after a few recommendations.

I'm intending to buy an External Hard Drive for security and backup purposes but as they're a tad pricey (at least when you look at the 3TB size) I want to buy one that's not going to let me down in a hurry - so a recommendation or two would be good.

There are two I've been looking at:

Has anyone had any user experiences of either - or even of other Seagate and LaCie products and if so, which would you recommend - or would you recommend something else entirely?

Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
