welp... like the scarecrow i've now recieved my diploma. now that it's over the real work begins. i still have to solicit two letters of recommendation, and thanks to a conversation with a professor i'm applying at a new school she pointed me towards... one of my friends went there for undergrad and they really liked it- purdue. so the goal next week is to get everything completely done for grad school apps. i've already got my bachelor's degree now (3.4 gpa), already finished the g.r.e. (1800), and i have one letter of recommendation already secured. now i have to get transcripts sent, solicit two recommendations, write my personal statement, and fill out the individual applications. the deadline for one school is january 15, the other two i can slack until february 15. i'm also supposed to continue looking for a short-term job or two, i have a few leads... anyone know of a dive bar that's looking for inexperienced help?
i like writing about this stuff for two reasons 1) i never see people writing in detail about the graduate school applications process in their blogs 2) it's a passive way of soliciting advice from other people in the same boat as me.
