i've often wondered at what point in one's life does becoming the moderator of some internet communication portal become an honest ambition? i remember back in high school there were kids that *really* wanted to be mods on irc channels, then later i noticed people *really* wanting to be mods on bulletin boards/community boards... is this the same personality trait that motivates people to aspire to be hall monitor in school, or equipment manager, or enter into a dead-end low-level management position? some people just really seem to get off on holding trivial amounts of authority over other people.
