Day seven and all is calm... For now
Today's blog is all about music that helped me get through the day.
First up some Pantera, this is one of my favourite songs of all time and showcases Dime's skill.
Next up, a bit of 50 to get up, combine it with some UFC action featuring Brock and Randy Couture
Got to have some Queens, Dave Grohl smashing the drums like a monkey on mescaline.
Speaking of Dave, sometimes you got to break out
Love this track, pity the rest of their stuff isn't up to par
Goldfinger also want you to open your eyes
This next one has a story behind it, it may seem like an odd song for me but it helped me a long time ago.
One night after I got home from work, I heard the words no man should have to hear. "We need to talk"
My girlfriend of seven years wanted to call it off. I was in shock as I thought things were going well but apparently "we" had being having issues for a long time. Colour me surprised.
It turns out I have no emotions, which is bullshit because at that exact moment I was experiencing a very real emotion... Anger. So what now? She was going to move back in with her parents. OK, I need some time to let this sink in, so I went for a long drive on the motorway at rather high speed. I eventually got home, found out I was sleeping in the spare room and decided to watch some TV. The following song was on Top of the Pops... It helped a lot.
So we broke up, she moved back to her parents, I decided to sell the house and everything I owned and go travelling, I said good bye to her and our Staffordshire bull terrier and have never seen them again. I left South Africa, travelled around the world, spent my entire net worth in doing so and eventually ended up in England where I have been ever since.
Turns out she got married six months later to a guy from England that she met while we were on holiday in Cape Town about 2months before the break up.
C'est la vie
This acoustic version is very good, a lot better than the original in my humble opinion.
This was eight years ago and for some reason this song has been going through my head most of the day.
I leave you with a song that was playing on the radio as I was clearing down tonight, don't laugh
I managed to find this awesome acoustic version got to love YouTube
