So this blog is a little bit more of a rant than a regular "blog" I suppose. I was lurking through the Everything SG group this morning when I came across the thread "Do you use the Not for me button?". I read it, in it's entirety....every post, comment and response. I have to say that I'm surprised at some of the comments that were left. I personally do not use that button...for many of the reasons stated by others in that thread. It's completely wrong for someone to just hit it if the girl isn't their taste....if you don't like the girl...just move on. Everyone has their own opinion of what "beauty" is and what they like...to downgrade the set because the girl isn't your taste is thoughtless and rude. I was appalled to read that there are many guys who will hit the button if the girl didn't show enough Vag. Really? SG isn't about that. There have never been spread shots, penetration, open wide shots...it's all a tease and classy artistic nudes. People seem to keep mistaking this website for a clear porn site and it's not that. Yes, there are nude women here....but it's not what it's about. It's about the community of folks that hang around and the nude women are just a plus. There are real models, real photographers and many of the models have careers outside of the SG. For someone to hit the button and downgrade the set because she didn't show enough Vag...sorry, just move along. Maybe pornhub or youporn is better place for you.
In my personal opinion, the button shouldn't even exist. If you want to give constructive criticism, then do so in a message to either the photographer or model. Honestly, most of the time it's the photography that makes a set bad and isn't putting the model in their best light. I would never hit the button and disgrace the model like that...even if I didn't like it. I would just move along and even leave a nice comment for the girl because it takes A LOT of balls to be naked on the internet....and most of us girls who do it have more balls than most of the guys whining.
There is also the fact that other SGs and HOPEFULS can hit the button. That to me is also wrong. I have met a lot of great women here who do give great feedback on sets and who would never be the "jealous" type to sit there and go through sets and mash the button to bring others down...but they do exist. Girls will be girls, as much as we'd like to think not, especially here, it happens more often than not. Another reason why the button shouldn't exist. We are all here to support each other, not bring each other down.
So please, do us all a favor and IGNORE THAT BUTTON. Never press it. It's wrong, it's hurtful and honestly....shouldn't even be there. SG is about appreciation of ALL beauty...there is no standard. If the set isn't for you...you don't have to look through it...just move along to something else that's more your taste.
The second rant is about followers. I posted a similar thing on my instagram...which is also driving me crazy. I liked SG when we had "friendships". We weren't just sheep that followed each other around. I was always very selective on who I friended....I wanted to make sure they had the same interests as me etc. Now...people can just follow me. And that's all fine and dandy but I feel like the site has lost it's sense of community. I hate instagram, I hate twitter...I don't want SG to be like that. On instagram...I'll get 100 followers if I post a picture of my ass but lose 40 of those if I post a picture of my cat....clearly they are only following me for one thing and have no interest in the actual person I am. I feel the same here now.. the number of followers fluctuates on a daily basis depending on what I post. Don't people look into the person before they follow....or is it yet again, just mindless sheeple just following what others do?
I follow people who have something in common with me, or people that have made me laugh...I always follow other hopefuls and SGs to support other ladies who are here doing the same thing as me. I want the sense of community back!
