Venture Bros is one of the best new shows they've added in a while. I fucking love it. I hope it ends up on DVD at some point. It'd be a shame if it didn't.
I dunno exactly what the deal is with the studios and the characters they're using. I read something a while back about characters crossing over into movies being unlikely because of contract issues and the like. I'm assuming that's the deal, but I couldn't say for sure.
Well man, I'm no drinker, but thanks for the happy birthday. I'd rather drown my sorrows in a prade of boobies. Hurrat for boobies! Hurray for strippers!
You know what, I think I remember hearing about the dog welding guy in Wizard. They use to cover that book a lot actually. Wasn't there an elderly mobster or something that only did business from his toilet?
As for Born, I have every issue. I bought every issue the week it came out and last year at Orlando Megacon I got the artist to sign every issue. Its a great. great, great, read. I love it. Also, Thomas Jane stopped by my local comic shop (which is like maybe 10 minutes away from my house) to pick up Punisher comics while filming the Punisher in Tampa. The owner has a picture with him, and an issue of Born signed by him. Pretty cool. The movie did dissapoint on some levels, but I was very happy with Jane as the Punisher. I really think he gets the character.
Though if I can get into the movie for a sec, I'll point out my biggest gripe with the origin as they depicted it.: the death of Castle's family as an act of revenge. It wasn't something he should have had coming. In the comics it was a random act. He and his family were in the wrong place, wrong time.
Its like they were trying too hard to make it an insane and evil act. Sure, Howard's Saint's reaction is total overkill, but as an act of revenge its less cruel in a way.
Its far more tragic and far more chaotic for him to lose just the ones closest to him in an act that had no reason to happen. He goes out with his family for a picnic or something and BAM! A mob hit goes down and his family is slaughtered. Its that insanity, that injustice of a truly tragic level crossing bounds and spilling into his life that drives him into his war on crime. I dunno, maybe I'm just thinking way too into it. But either way, I like the classic origin way more. To me, his having done nothing to provoke the attack and his not having one clear face (like Saint) to attach to it just explains his motivation much better. They're supposed to be working on a sequel at some point. here's hoping they get more time and a bigger budget. And here's hoping it turns out better.
Whoops, accidentally posted a message to somebody else here. That's the trouble with Mozilla...Tabsa are an extra feature, but sometimes you get them mixed up.
That sounds funny man. EWvery scene needs satire to remnd it to lighten and so it knows what its doing wrong. Me, I just like mocking the concept of "scenes". Too much like high school and all those stupid cliques. Rock on. Hope you holiday was pleasant. Later.
I spent new years eve down at my brothers, I wanted to call your ass to see what was going on, but I fell alseep by 9 and slept threw everything... yet still it was one of the best new years I've have in a while.
As for Lynch and Hedberg, they both have CDs out. Lynch has 2 CDs, "A little Bit Special" and "Superhero." Both are fucking hillarious. Mitch Hedberg has a couple out too, the easiest to find and the latest should be Mich Altogether. I actualy got him to sign that for me when he played the Tampa Improv a while back. That album comes with a DVD too. Good stuff, check them out.
Dude, I bought Fallout 2 bundled with the original for like $15 at Software etc. (Now Gamestop.) That was lke, a few years back. Go to a gamestop or an eb games and look through the old stuff, you'll probably find a copy. You check online too. Try Fallout Tactics, its not bad, its actually pretty cool. You can get a Hummer in that one they let you drive during missions. I called it my Fraggin' Wagon. You could run someone down, park on them and shoot them. So much fun. I also reccomend getting a character editor for either game. It'll come in handy.
Well, I missed Gwar and Dying Fetus last night. My friend was all set to go with me but his car got broken into yesterday......parked in his gated apartment complex in frickin' Diamond Bar. The fuck just stole his radio (which was a pile of dung anyway) but busted up his back window pretty badly to get in. So no ride, no show.
I hate Hollywood, I went there two nights ago to see this band called the advantage and the fucking show sold out... and I had to pay for parking to find that out.... f that place.
