I graduated today...but didn't walk....cap and gown cost $200 that I wasn't willing to part with. I have a four more months till I move to D.C.! I'm excited about that. I like the view of the monuments at dawn, it's...inspiring. This country needs more monuments, stuff that'll pull people together and make cities more visually appealing.

I'm in a patriotic mood, which isn't all that rare. Just wish social conservatives weren't in control of the government right now. Since when did Republicanism become socially conservative anyways? They were cool back when Lincoln and T.R. were Presidents. Nobody likes just throwing money away, the philosophy of fiscal conservatism and state rights made total sense. Now they're a bunch of tight-asses. I like John McCain and Bob Dole though...they're funny guys. I don't like too many Democrats though, Obama is cool...but I worry about the party as a whole.

Sunday morning talk shows are nice, they're like an American ritual. Wake up, go to church, watch politicians bite eachothers' heads off. Oratory needs to be emphasized more these days, people give waaay too little thought to what they're saying anymore. I'm gonna go read now.

I commend you for your optimism, my dear. I also wish you premature good luck in D.C. It's refreshing to see someone in Indiana who actually cares about the state of the country. However, maybe my experience has been too narrow. I do live in Terre Haute, after all. I wish I attended a school where political activism was the norm rather than the exception. Oh well, there's always grad school. I've been trying to convince Lowell that we should move to San Fransisco after we get married and finish up our degrees so I can go to UC Berkely (sp?). biggrin

Also, congratulations on graduating!! *hugs*

Take care, doll. kiss
