so back on June 16th i met with an advisor at the college i used to go to. I had re-enrolled for this fall semester and wanted to make sure that I was on top of everthing. I wanted to triple check with her about registration times and anything i would need to be prepared for fall. I asked what classes I needed to take to finish undergrad credits blah blah blah.
When she told me what days i could register (August 12 and 13th aka today and tomorrow) I said in question form 'so i just log in one of those mornings and I can sign up for classes" and she said yes.
Well to be more efficient I packed up my laptop this morning and headed over to campus this morning. I wanted to be on campus when registering so as soon as I finished I could hop in line to get my students ids, parking passes and books. Well I was quadruple checking everthing and decided to see what would happen when i clicked the button that would take me to the registration area with it opened at 10am.
A message appeared telling me that I would not be able to register till after 945am on August 13th.
I asked off from my job (and my boss was kinda pissy about it) today so that I could get all of this done.
I went to the registrars office immediately and told them what I was told by my advisory and everything and they said they couldn't do anything. So i calmly walked out of their with tears streaming down my face bc i was about to lose it and afraid i would throw something.
Came all the way home and called up there again. The phone lines were busy for about 45 minutes ( i was calling on 2 different phones) and talked to someone higher up who told me that I would have to wait for tomorrow andhope for the best bc the registration times were assigned by how many hours you have already taken and no one would be able to override this error bc my advisor slipped up and gave me the wrong information.
I am NEVER someone who asks for handouts or asks for ANYTHING. So I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to ask for a class override so that I can get into a math class that I need. I can take the same class at the next time slot but the anthro class i also need is at that time slot and i can't take classes on any other days or time of the days i have set aside for classes.
This going back to school thing is hard as shit.
I wish that i didn't know soooooo many guys that went to strip clubs all the time bc i would totally be a stripper and then i wouldn't have to worry about juggling 2 jobs and school...
