I walked out of the house today smelling like pickles and shoe polish. Yuck-o. The life of a mom is weird sometimes.

Had quite an adventurous weekend. My only little niece (born 4 days before my 4 year old) and her parents were here from FL visiting. We went NYC to the Natural History Museum to see the dinosaur bones. The kids were awestruck by the size.

And then our visitors REALLY wanted to go see the tree at Rockefeller Center and try to get in to iceskate there.

We did not think this would be a good idea on the first saturday after the tree lighting, but it was more INSANE there than we even imagined.

The sidewalks were Packed for blocks and we were a group of 15 people including 6 children, trying to stay together. INSANE!!! Masses of humanity packed together like sardines, most in groups desperatly trying to stay together and cutting others off to do it. Plenty of holiday spirit there!

I hate feeling like a fucking tourist in the city.

I bet it felt Christmas-y though. Its like 80 degrees here still. So NOT 'tis the season!

Yes...surrender, I reall am just faking it right now, but I figure I'll just keep faking it until I believe it or she comes!! My doula is coming over to do a hypnosis session with me today. "baby come out" We all guess it will probably be this week sometime, most liekly not today. but when, when, when. I am so nervous, excited, crazed......i hate the anticipation, no I love it....no I hate it....grrrrrrr....i don't know anything anymore. All the blood is being shunted from my brain to this 10 lb parasite!

I've always wanted to visit New York during the holidays. Of course, the description of a New Yorker of the Rockefeller experience is a bit unappealing, but at least you're honest, right? Maybe I'll just enjoy seeing the rink and the tree from the comfort of my couch watching in on TV. Sounds much safer. smile
