So my flu bug is mostly cleared up - what's left of it seems to have settled in my throat. My voice has that gravelly Demi Moore thing going on...

FINALLY saw Napeolean Dynamite last night - great, great, GREAT movie. I was so pleased to see someone finally get the high school geek thing right. Most films seem to want to portray nerds as sweet, shy, and lovable - whereas in reality, that just isn't always the case. I was one myself, and I knew a lot of others - and most of us were smartass, angry, and even somewhat unstable. Jared Hess got nerd life SO right that I found myself squirming at some scenes - the naked awkwardness so well acted and captured can be hard to watch.
I wouldn't change a second of this movie. Hess even got the Popular kids right - most films of this ilk show them as ridiculously over the top evil incarnate, and usually, as in Napolean Dynamite, they are just moderately obnoxious.
And he still gave us a happy ending that managed to stay real.

It's a cluster of 3 lotus flowers in various states of bloom, on the upper right side of my back.

I am really happy with it.
