We got granny all settled in at the nursing home yesterday - it's a VERY nice place, and the staff is really pro-active in making sure she is taken care of. Her room is right across from a nurse's station, which will work out well - granny is pretty much unable to walk, and there will be someone available 24/7 to help her.
My husband and I were joking about how long it would be before we got a phone call from an irritated caretaker (granny's a little...ummm....difficult)- he said less than four hours, I said "nah - maybe tomorrow".
Turns out we got it two hours after we got home from checking her in
So I crawled into bed last night around 9pm to FINALLY start to catch up on about a month's worth of lost sleep feeling a little icky.
*sniffle*
Woke up today with a nasty case of the flu. Not like I'm really surprised or anything - stress & sleep deprivation will do that
I'm sure if I just take a couple of naps today & get to bed early again tonight I'll be better tommorrow.
I fininshed up my last shift at work Sun. night - it was kind of cool the way my manager kept trying to talk me into telling my hubby that I wanna stay in this area. It'a always nice to know you are appreciated. We're supposed to meet up with some of my co-workers for a good-bye party this weekend, which will be a very good thing.
My hubby and I haven't been able to get out much....well....at all, really, for a long time - it'll be good for us to *tie one on* & have some fun.
And the second this flu abates, we're gonna get to packing stuff up and painting some rooms so we can sell our house.
Yayy!!!! I'm getting more and more excited about going to L.A.

Congrats on passing the final steps and making that decision a reality. Prolly one of the hardest things you've had to do. But it's for the best in the end - everyone will benefit.

And be thankful that you didn't buy me a gift account. Hexe bought me one last night against my wishes and then Smuffy bought me one today ... also against my wishes ... and two others wanted to as well.
I didn't want anyone to gift me ... I wanted to be able to do it myself. But I failed and bowed to the pressure and accepted Hexe's ... just so I can rag on her a bit for not being able to follow directions,
If you had been the one ... well ... it would been your ass I'd be coming down on.
And that sounded so wrong.
