I could not resist photographing this..
Bizzare..

it is the slime that binds us..
eww

I think the slugs here are freakishly large..
Not these two in particular though if you ask me.. They seem much larger than the ones on the east coast..
While off on a romp in the woods one day I came across something that at first appeared to be a turd..
Upon semi-closer inspection I discovered that it was a slug trying to regroup itself..
The point of this story is that the slug had to of been at least 5 inches tall and 8-9 inches long..

I happened upon these two twisting about on my front porch..
The same place I stumbled upon a HUGE dragonfly with beautiful markings..
Still sitting on my front porch awaiting an art project I have in mind..

This morning I captured a huge spider with a cup..
I would have killed it instead I chose to catch it in hopes of figuring
out what type he is..

It appears as if I am returning to my childhood roots of being fascinated by
the biology of everything non-human..

your comment to me was longer than most of your journal entries.

dinos would be neat, to some degree. as would godzilla. i feel like global warming should logically lead to some sort of giantism. i mean, you've lived in the south. you've seen what heat does to the size of bugs.

yeah, i randomly decided austin would be a nice place to move. i realized i didn't really have any good reason to stick around new york. and i just think i'll fit in better there. philly was also in the running, but was eliminated due to proximity to new york/people i already know. i'm curious to see how i'll do on my own, when forced to make friends and figure things out for myself. i should be there in a couple weeks. and i would very much like for you to visit me when you get an opportunity or need a change of scenery.

what type of bugs do you think i'll find in texas? more roaches, i guess.
