Last post's questions, answered!

Q. What do you usually have for breakfast on a work/school day? How about on a day off?
Well, I answered my weekday breakfast last post... muesli with nuts and coconut in rice milk or coconut/banana/cocoa/oatmeal smoothies. This morning, though, I had this organic peanut butter granola that I picked up on a whim yesterday... yum! With basmati rice milk which...

Time to answer the questions from my last post.

Q. Do you ride a bike? Tell me about it! Does it have a name?
I have two bikes - soon to be four if I have my way. My first, very reliable and oldest bike is named Frankie. Frankie is a brown ladies cruiser ("Free Spirit"). Steel rims, steel frame, heavy as fuck. Ten speeds...

Oh and here is the bike place that I mentioned earlier this morning that is on my way home from work. bike shop

I usually don't eat the really crazy ones. I just get regular plain doughnuts with chocolate syrup.

But I've been told a lot lately that I have a bad sweet tooth. I think it might be a Cuban thing because I never got that back home. For example, I drink a latt-ish Cuban equivalent that is a lot sweeter than regular coffee, and I grew up on another drink called guarapo which is raw sugar cane juice.

Interestingly enough, I've never been all that into candy though. I never ate wrapped candy stuffs or chewed gum or any of it. Which is why I didn't get that deep fried candy bar at breakfast, that sounded like death on a stick.

The questions from my last post...

Q. What was the best part of your day today? How about yesterday? What about tomorrow?
Today has barely started - I'm still in bed - but I must admit that yesterday I saw Cocorosie at Richard's on Richards and they absolutely blew me away. The two openers were also too fantastic. Tez was a beatboxer with some seriously...

Life is magical. I went on the Midnight Mass bike ride last night and it was fantastic... I was out til 5:00am. Am I crazy? Am I awesome? Was I breaking the law, breaking the law? I was riding my bike on the pedestrian paths at Stanley Park... fuck yeah.

Fuck yeah for last minute trips to the Island. I love it!

I'm leaving tomorrow (or Saturday) for the Victoria Biker's Ball... stay tuned for photos.

I've been shooting film lately. Let's see how that turns out. I'm a film virgin. I don't even know how to load/unload it.

Oh, and though you may not have known that I was in a serious relationship for...

I'm sorry about the break up . . . but I fully appreciate your need for freedom.

A person your age should have the luxury, if not the obligation to be wild and free and full of life . . and not have to think twice about savoring every opportunity .. . to travel, to love, to become, to just be!

And if SG was a "Face Book" . . . . you'd be on the cover! wink

ps . . . I assume you got my message?
spidersandarrows:
You're absolutely right! I never thought of it like that. Too worried what others think of me. It's better to be happy with yourself than trying to please others and feel like shit. Damn straight! I am my own man! haha woot! smile

So most of the time I think perhaps I am a lesbian. I really am only attracted to women and YOWZA, am I ever. Men are fairly lacklustre but are great as pals. But they never make me go YOWZA.

And then I go to the Work Less Party PARTY Spring Carnival last night, compl-eeeete-ly sober, and I see The Brakes, and it...

That's exactly what I tell people. How can you enjoy the sunny days if you don't have the rainy ones too?
zpo:
I'm thinking a perfect day for a sailplane. Gorgeous sky. The clouds stacked up on the ridgeline almost certainly have some great updrafts on their leading edge. Perfect.

somedays
aren't yours at all
they come and go as if they're someone else's days
they come and leave you behind
someone else's face
and it's harsher than yours
and colder than yours

regardless, these days have been beautiful and i'm full of cheer and wonder. while i claim that september is my favourite month (all swirling leaves and warm air with crisp breezes and...

i went through a bunch of photos today and finally sized them and posted them. i don't want to go through the trouble of uploading them all here but here are some select favourites that you might find interesting, as people who are on a naked girls website. i am not naked in any of them, but some of them have my face, and it,...

batman or bruce wayne..... both learned to coexist.

When you feel yourself spread too thin, focus on what you love, what is necessary. The essence
evermansice:
I do, occasionally. At those times I swing by every now and then to take a look at the regional groups, but rarely look at the sets unless they look like something I would/are from someone I particularly like. It's rather weird at those times because I'm paying money for it still, and I wonder or not I will continue to do so, but then, something, whether in the site or in me, turns around by the time rebilling comes around. Still, when I reach a point similar to what you describe, I put myself in a completely different environment. Usually I suffer from the physical equivalent, so I pick up and go somewhere else, somewhere where I have no life already put together. Once there, as I start to put a life together for myself, it becomes clear what parts of my life really mattered to me. Putting myself together in such a way lends an odd sort of perspective. I remember hearing once that Michelangelo said if you take a sculpture and roll it down a hill, what remains is what was essential. The rest can be done without.

My advice to you, then, is to leave the cyber-world behind for a while. Go on hiatus and work to put together a life away from the electronic habits you've know and see where that leads you. Cold turkey isn't the easiest way, I know, but it works the best.

Also, naked faces like yours are preferred to naked bodies. I probably sound like I'm flattering, but I'm being perfectly honest. Naked ladies with masks is just not a kink I subscribe to...unless, perhaps, you're wearing the mask from the second picture. What can I say? It's an awesome mask.

i'm moving! whee... it's awesome. i'm currently mid-pack and i'm taking a break. i ate fried snack food for supper. did you know that bugles(tm) are way better when they've been in the freezer for a while? try it. you may be pleasantly surprised.

in other news i've lost my voice and i've since become a coughing, hacking wreck. that's what you get for protesting...

Aw, thanks. I'm actually going there eventually. I'm Either starting during the summer or waiting until the fall. I've been thinking of adventuring recently. I've been looking at the Burning Man site. Maybe I'll try something like that (eventhough I wouldnt know who to go with) or take a trip out of the country. I'm so mixed up about what I want to do. any suggestions?

What do you do to keep in shape?
Do you have a best friend or best friends? Do you consider it important to have "best" friends?
Do you think you're ready to settle down at this point in your life or do you still have lots of whippersnappering to do?
What are you most looking forward to this summer (Northern Hemmers) or winter (Southern Hemmers)?

1 - I train in a martial art known as Aikido...three or four times a week. I also hit the treadmill occasionally as I walk around it to the sofa. wink

2 - I have three close friends, one of which I've known for a very long time. I think it is important to have friends you can trust to known all (or at least most) of your ugly side as well as the good stuff.

3 - Can't I have it both ways?

4 - I'm looking forward to actually putting my new surfboard in the water...feeling the salt spray in my hair and listening to the susurrus of the ocean.

Yes, recurring dreams often. Or at least recurring dreams and dream-places.

Tell me stuff.
bigmike222:
I have recurring dream that's always in this church that I'm living in and converting into a badass Goth abode. Then I sell it before it's finished and I always end up walking around in it after someone else finishes it. That dream always pisses me off, because that place is fuck all in my head.
