A while back I was extremely addicted to Urban Dead, which at that time was in a semi-beta stage and still receiving feature updates on a very regular basis. While simple, the simulation of survival in a zombie apocalypse (or being a terrible, flesh-eating zombie, depending) was very strong, arguably superior to any commercial game on the market. Unfortunately, eventually my zombies ran out...

I hate summer. Even when I was a kid and got off school for three months, I hated summer. I don't like the outdoors in the best of times, but when it's blazingly hot and the sun is eyekillingly bright, and there is a veritable horde of insects just waiting to devour you alive...well. No thank you. At least when I'm home there's some chance...

Things I learned from reading about the fall of Enron:

High-powered executives making millions of dollars a year have the language and computer skills of 8 year old AOL users.

The government really does throw around fucktons of money. If all the "large amounts of money" talk you hear is government-related, it doesn't seem that exciting that they're spending dozens of billions on Iraq, say....

This site makes very little sense to me as yet. It will take a lot of button pushing time that I'm not sure I have.

So...wow. I just found the best thing ever:EasyTutu. No, it's not a simplified process for selecting a ballerina outfit. It's a mod which converts the original Baldur's Gate to run in the BGII engine, with all enhancements thereof (pausing when in inventory, additional character classes, kits, higher resolutions, 3D enhancement...all those shinies). The whole thing. Including the expansion.

This is 100% awesome. I...

Yeah, I think they might still be refining that. I'm not sure. You've clarified quite a bit, though! Thanks. smile

Man, changing my schedule throws me for a loop. I get into this routine, and even though my actual free time is spent in wildly different ways depending on my mood...I don't know when to get to bed, or when to wake up, or when to eat, or when to hustle out the door to make sure I catch my bus. And the entire tone...

If I were ever to come into a very large sum of money, this is what I would do.

I would rent (or buy) a fairly small commercial space in some mall or shopping district. Then I would go around buying single copies of essentially any book I could get my hands on. Then I would very carefully and painstakingly go through each one. I...

Finished Half-Life 2 last night. Have to say, the Citadel areas were not the most visually exciting in the world (although the perilous descent to actually get in was...nervewracking.). They were nonetheless probably my favorite of the entire game. Why? The super gravity gun. The best weapon in the history of the FPS, I am confident in saying.

For those of you who do not...

Really haven't had that much to say. Oblivion has basically fallen by the wayside at this point, between game-installing and American Gothic watching, and most importantly, the discovery of www.underground-gamer.com.

It is essential that I build my ratio there, which means making torrents, uploading them, and then seeding the stuffing out of them. And if there's one thing I'm sure of with Oblivion, it's that...

A minor little acquisition notice:

The 300 gigabyte Seagate Barracude SATAII hard drive I ordered last Thursday showed up today. I got it installed with surprisingly little fuss. I now have a total of (theoretically) 500 GBs of storage on my PC. I have this strange suspicion it's going to run out sooner than one might suppose.

I went a bit nuts at Gamestop and...

Right. I've now become guildmaster of both the Thieves' Guild and the Dark Brotherhood. I am also a vampire. At this point I'm strongly considering just finishing up the main quest and abandoning this character. My interest level has dropped dramatically.

I think a big chunk of it is being a vampire. The stat boosts and powers are really handy, but I'm starting to get...
