I'd almost forgotten how much I hate snow. The last couple of winters here have been quite mild and almost entirely snow-free. When we did get snow, it was an inch or two and barely even registered as an annoyance. (Except when falling - unlike rain, it's nigh impossible to shelter from falling snow while waiting for the bus.) And then all of a sudden this weekend we get multiple feet worth. Bleh. It's a royal pain in the ass trying to get around on foot with snow coming halfway up your calves, past the knee in some spots. And it's become clear just how little suburbs like Roseville value the pedestrian, with no sidewalks having been shovelled despite there having been two days to at least turn back some of the tide, not to mention a lofty fortress wall of plowed snow pushed onto the sides so that it's pretty much impossible to cross from sidewalk to street or vice versa - and into at least one bus shelter. Fucking ridiculous.
