If I were ever to come into a very large sum of money, this is what I would do.

I would rent (or buy) a fairly small commercial space in some mall or shopping district. Then I would go around buying single copies of essentially any book I could get my hands on. Then I would very carefully and painstakingly go through each one. I would either snip out or white out any reference to the book's title and author. I would remove title pages, covers, and bindings. I would then carefully re-bind each book in a colorfree and nondescript binding, making adjustments so that each of the three major classes of book (hardcover, trade paperback, and mass market paperback) had one more or less uniform size and shape (if I could not make a book conform, I would not buy it.). I would put the first word (even if a, an, the, and so forth) of the title on the cover and spine in uniform printing with a black marker or pen. And then I would organize the whole lot on shelves alphabetically. I would sell them at a single price per class of book. I would not replace any book once sold.
