Interesting Oblivion bugs:
I was emerging from an Ayleid ruin, when the graphics went completely to hell and the game chugged into frozenness. I was briefly worried that it was my videocard, but I rebooted, loaded the autosave and everything displayed normally except...wait...my character had been divested of all equipped weaponry and armor and it looked like just about every other nonstolen item. All the stolen items were still there, but not marked stolen anymore. I had the wrist irons from the very start of the game. And I didn't have a class or birthsign anymore.
(I then loaded from back inside the ruin, cleared the last section again, and emerged normally. Phew.)
I went to turn in a quest to this farmwife. She was sitting inside, in front of a blazing fire, on a chair... raking a furrow in the carpet next to her chair just as if she were outside working in the fields. It was terribly bizarre.
I was finishing up a quest called "Caught in the Hunt". Towards the end you emerge from a dungeon to see one of the characters involved murder another one, then the murderer comes up to you and engages you in conversation. Or that's the theory, anyway. The problem is this: it's an in-game cutscene like a few others, which means you can't move or act. And the murderer apparently can't climb stairs.
So what happened when I initially triggered that sequence was that the murder victim was up on the second floor of the ruin. Which led to the murderer running around with sword drawn looking frustrated. Ad infinitum. Tried several more times, happened the same way every time. Well, turns out it's a known glitch. Recommendation is if it happens to you, load from before you entered the dungeon, then start combat with the murder victim. Lead him down in front of the dungeon entrance, then yield to him. Then enter rightquick.
Did that. Rebeat the dungeon real quick (not that hard, minimal combat and my 5x sneak attack delivered from the shadows finished them off real good.). Came out....the murderer chased the victim over to me...and the victim ran into the dungeon. The murderer talked to me as though he'd killed the victim, and then kinda sat there because the victim wasn't actually dead and I couldn't move to go fix things. So I tried again. That time the murderer successfully killed his victim...and then wandered off because he couldn't see me. (I was in sneak mode.). And then we talked, and the rest of the quest played out.
