So: newses.
My CPU and motherboard came today. I will be installing them on Sunday with the assistance of a friend. Ideally this will lead to the renewed functioning of my computer.
In anticipation of this state, and because it had 15 dollars knocked off the price for 48 hours only, I have just ordered The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. So expect me to have no life soon. As if I ever had one to begin with...
I come perilously close to finishing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. So far, sustained and utter brilliance. Very occasionally I have been puzzled as to how to proceed, and I don't think the evidence gathering works as well as the court sessions, but eh. This is not unusual for adventure games, and it's all quite good. My favorite moment so far was having to cross-examine a parrot. Its testimony? "Hello! Hello! *squawk*"
Also, I am really, really tired. I have to stay up for a while yet because a dog will be delivered shortly for me to take care of over the weekend. He's a sweet old Sheltie, and I put him up for a week or thereabouts last summer. The owners are going to be at a con all weekend and while they'll have their other dogs with them, three would be pushing it. And he's the one I'm familiar with and able to live with. Their other two dogs are much too active for my sedentary lifestyle. And I need to stay up because they need to drop him off in the early part of the day, and it's easier given my usual schedule to just push onwards that little bit longer instead of having to wake up abnormally early.

The problem with your assesment of Iran (so far everyone's problem) is that you assume rational action. There seems to be far too many emotional appeals and pre-Iraq type hype for any sort of rationality to apply. Basically the Iraq war is irrational and yet that went ahead anyway.
I think Bush has already made up his mind to do something with the military and we are in the build up and hype phase.
