You know, recently I was considering buying Disturbed's more recent albums off Amazon. I listened to their carefully representative 30 second samples of several songs on both albums, heard nothing as shatteringly angry or wonderful as on The Sickness, and decided against it.
Now I've downloaded (i.e. pirated) said albums and the full songs are incredible. I'm going to buy them next chance I get.
Herein ends the lesson on the marketing power of NOT FUCKING CRIPPLING YOUR WORK. I wouldn't have had to pirate the album if I could have downloaded even a couple of full length songs.
