Still kind of on the edges of being sick. Persistent, hacking cough, worst at night. Tendency to wake up multiple times at night for no real reason. Vague partial deafness in one ear that comes and goes. Went to work on Sunday but called in sick again today. Just generally feeling kinda bleh.
Played more F.E.A.R. Got to Interval 05: Blindside today. The ninjas (assassins, I guess, but ninjas to me) were freaky but I was just as glad to find that they weren't replacing the more visceral, spectacular fights with the standard Replica troopers. I discovered the joys of the proximity mine. Shotgun's become the preferred gun because it's a one hit kill if you're close enough. Now, granted, that does require getting close enough...but doing long range fights against the Replica troopers is iffy because of their tendency to weave and dive behind the nearest piece of cover. And close-in work with a machine gun isn't nearly as automatic as the shotgun. So I use it. With the exception of a very satisfying fight where I popped out of a vent and sniped the bastards from afar with perfect cover. Then the game hard locked on me, so that was that.
Futzed some with one of my newly acquired Playstation games, the post-PS2 released Saiyuki: Journey West. It's a colorful, enjoyable tactical RPG based on an ancient Chinese legend. It's not as complex as some other entries in the field, but those ones tend to burn me out fast as I just can't decide what I should be doing. Oh, and emulating it. Sure, I own the game and a PS2, but I like my computer better. Working well so far.
Finishing out the night with some more Disaster Report. It's less tense now that I'm off the bridge, but the city is falling apart in a pretty spectacular way all around me, so it remains interesting. Also I am weird hobo man with sunglasses, crowbar, and umbrella.
