Oh, and I installed Elvira. Had to manually copy all the files over into a directory I made, and run the installer there. I don't think I've ever encountered an installer before where those steps weren't automated, but I think it has to do with the game also having a version that runs off floppies (not for PC, but for Amigas or somesuch.). I was freaked out when the game asked me to insert a floppy so it could save, but it transpires that the hard drive version doesn't need that particular step. As for the game itself...well, it looks interesting, but I very swiftly ran into an enemy and couldn't manage the combat system at all. Apparently there's two attack options and two block options, one block type blocking each attack type. So you have to guess which to use every time, and I didn't see any way of figuring this out. So that was my experience with Elvira. I don't think I'll be going back to it for a while.
