Well, the new motherboard arrived. My friend and I installed it along with everything else, toted it back over to the computer desk, plugged stuff in, pressed the power button and............
Nothing.
Fucking hell.
So it's not the motherboard. There are two reasons to believe this: One, it's fucking well impossible that three consecutive motherboards could have been DOA when nothing else I've ever bought...

Well. I finally did it. I broke down and bought a PSP. I saw that the MSRP was down to $170, which is still too high for what the system offers. But eBay...well, *generally* you can nab stuff on eBay for at least 15-20% less than MSRP, and I figured something as a) not terribly successful and b) wide market as the PSP would be...

Well, I was right. Thursday did suck. Not so much in terms of what I did, since I managed to entertain myself passably, but I was definitely not at all well all day. Fortunately by Friday things had mostly cleared up, save a lingering sore throat. Called in sick just to be sure, though. And as this point I'm feeling right as rain.

I would have to agree with on grindhouse. I guess that why alot of people were leaving after Planet terror. Ya those fake were great and wish Rob Zombies was real though for that would an awesome movie.
This is shaping up to be one of those days. Yesterday I decided to go shopping, threw on my windbreaker and left without checking the temperature. After all, it was sunny 75 when I left for Iowa, surely it couldn't be all *that* cold now, right? Heh. 20 degrees out, with powerfully cold winds. I had to abandon my shopping and head right home, and...

I really like that you're politely asking the questions in that forum. I always enjoy and respect those that query things they weren't quite aware of. It helps a lot.
And I'm back. I spent all day today on a train or waiting for one, except for a couple minutes in a taxi, an hour in my parents' car, and a little bit of time getting ready. I would fucking kill for this country to have sensible nation-wide public transit.
Still, as crippled and failing as our national rail system is, it's still better than...

I'm going to be visiting my parents down in Iowa from tomorrow (the 26th) until April 3rd. I'll have internet access, but will probably not be visiting porn sites.
Scored my first five star rating in Guitar Hero just now. Smoke on the Water (easy difficulty), with 99601 points, a 285 note streak, and 98% of the notes hit. Damn does that feel good.
Edit: And my second, a first time five star on Jimi Hendrix's song "Spanish Castle Magic" (also on easy), 53512 points, 177 note streak and 98% notes hit. Whee.

I'm a bath man at heart. I used to have this utter hatred for taking showers, I think both because the showers I'd first experienced had water pressure to the point where it was like they were taking strips out of your flesh, and because I was deathly afraid of getting water in my eyes. Especially soapy water. But when I moved into my current...

I haven't had oatmeal in ages, but Target was displaying their "Archer Farms" brand products up front. And one of those products was a box of 8 packets of instant oatmeal. Ginger Cranberry with Walnuts. And it sounded good, so I picked one up.
I finally got around to having some today. Doesn't make much oatmeal, admittedly, but it's really, really good not much oatmeal....

I was out until two AM hanging out with friends. I get home to an empty house, and figure I'll spend an hour or so on the computer and then go to bed so I can get up at 10 and go to work way earlier than I should have to if the busses didn't run so fucking rarely on Sundays. 20 minutes later, the...

I'd almost forgotten how much I hate snow. The last couple of winters here have been quite mild and almost entirely snow-free. When we did get snow, it was an inch or two and barely even registered as an annoyance. (Except when falling - unlike rain, it's nigh impossible to shelter from falling snow while waiting for the bus.) And then all of a sudden...

The computer parts I ordered arrived, and my friend Eddy and I set about installing them. Problem is, when we were done and took the computer back into the computer room to test it out....it didn't turn on. And when I say it didn't turn on I mean nothing whatsoever occurred. No fan noises, no beeps, no nothing. We tried a few dozen different things...
