well... I never went and got my hair chopped off...
Instead I got a phonecall telling me grandmother ate about 250 xanax and is in the hospital in a coma on life support and probably won't make it. If she does pull through she will more than likely spend the rest of her life in a vegitative state.
so, I called my mother to tell her about her mother and she says "Well, what do you want me to do?" ummm show a little fucking concern?!
her husband watched her do this and didn't stop her because he was too busy partying with his friends doing who knows what... he bought the pills on the street, not for her to do this, but so that he could have them. when the paramedics came to get her he was so fucked up that he didn't even get out of bed and go to the hospital with her. mind you he is an alcoholic, takes all of her pills that she NEEDS, and wants these pills just as much as she needs them.
she has had lupus for the last 8 years or so. I know there is nothing that really can be done for lupus, but, all he has done is watch her deterioriate and push more pills on her rather than try to help her or get her any help.
but fuck, she hadn't stepped outside of their front door in well over a year, he won't let anyone see her... he kept her doped up all the time... UGH
and this is all just scratching the surface...
she's only in her mid-fifties. and with what he has allowed her to become its like she was nothing more than a mere child.
the one time I convinced him to let me come visit them and see her, I spent about 3 days with them. all that was in their refrigerator was beer. there was pill bottles everywhere.
she hadn't had a bath in well over a week. I had to bathe her and help her brush her teeth.
this just fucking infuriates me beyond belief. 10-12 years ago she was so full of life.... and I have always thought she was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen...
