More than a week since my last update? Really?
It's been a good week. I update less often when I'm in a good happy mood with plenty to do.
Hmm... Let's see... where do I start?
Tuesday I didn't have to work, so I was in the process of sleeping late when my landlady called to say she was coming over later. So I had to find a way to hide the kitten... and I was succesful. Yay me. Yay kitty in the closet. Oh, also: I have had him for over a month now, his 2nd vet appointment went well, and he has an appointment in 2 more weeks to get the last shots and to get his balls cut off. Lucky kitty.
While the kitty was in the closet, I went to class to take my final. It was a good one, and I think I did well. That leaves only one semester remaining, and I graduate in December. Again, Yay me. My mom drove me home from class. We stopped at McDonald's and when we got here, I showed her a bunch of old Sesame Street videos on Myspace. She was tickled. Then I went to see Superman with Jon and Scott and some of Jon's friends. It was entertaining.
Wednesday I worked, but went to 2 bars afterward with various people. I saw a good band play, ran into some people I haven't seen in years, and had some kick ass jalepeo poppers. Then I got a ride back to where my bike was locked at work, and I biked home from there. It was 2am and it was a lovely ride.
Thursday I woke up at noon and Fauxjocie was online... and he mentioned pancakes. I said, "I could go for some pancakes," so he drove up here with his friend Jeff and we went to a diner. We didn't have pancakes, but we did have pea soup, which is better. Afterward we chilled at my place a little while looking at Tom of Finland books and playing with the SG Chat and my webcam.
After they left, Scott came over and we watched the last 3 episodes of Freaks & Geeks. Man, I love that show. As we were watching the final episode, I got a text invitation to hang at a bar with some other friends. So after it was over, we went to the Comet and I ran into a bunch more people I haven't seen in a while.
Friday afternoon I went to see They Might Be Giants live for free.
That picture was during "Particle Man". To finish, they played "Fingertips"! It was fucking cool. I also ran into a whole bunch of people I know. When Jon and I got to the show and they checked our names on the guest list, who was there stamping hands? My sister! She volunteered for the show and so did my dad. So afterwards, the 4 of us went to the Reading Terminal Market for lunch in the Beer Garden. Good stuff.
When Jon and I got back to my house, I was so exhausted I made him leave so I could take a nap. We were talking about going to some party later, but when I woke up, he was at someone else's house and had 5 beers already. So we couldn't go to that girl's party, and I figured it was the end of the evening. I changed into a night shirt and turned on the TV. But my sister called and said they were going to the bar... so I put my clothes back on and went out for another 4 hours! More people I don't hang out with often, more drinking and fun times.
Yesterday morning I got up and went to work as I do every Saturday, but yesterday was different because I got to leave early and skip the evening shift. Why? Because it was my niece Jade's 2nd birthday, and there was a barbecue in the yard! Nice. Balloons and presents and cake and little kids in the mini moon bounce thing. Lots of grandmothers and family friends, too. Since it was mostly a kids' party, it didn't run very late. I took a nap in the middle of the day so I was wide awake when the party ended before midnight. So when Jon was online and said he was also bored and awake, I invited him over to watch LOTR with me. He brought over tequila.
Remember how long the extended version of Fellowship is, and it was after 1am when we started, therefore by the time the orcs killed Boromir, the birds were singing and the sky was getting light. Both of us had been drifting in and out of sleep since the Mines of Moria anyway. Next time we're gonna start earlier.
I like this hanging out with random people and watching TV and playing Sesame Street videos on my computer. I love the fact that even though I don't have a car, I still have so many friends who call me and come over and give me rides and take me out for fun stuff anyway.
I like this summer. I wonder what will happen next.
