Yeah...I find that most musicians you meet just wanna make shitty misic...or else they want to do whatever the big thing is...in So Cal, it's either post-hardcore, or scream-o or something similar...and that's not counting all shitty metal and pop-punk bands...it's annoying...but if you keep looking, you'll find somebody,.I promise...
