Yeah, so I think the Malaysian girl doesn't want to date after all, just be friends. I took her out to dinner tonight, and when I tried to kiss her, I got the demure cheek thing, which is usually a pretty unequivocal "oh wait, you meant it as a date? I like you enough to not say anything, but still... no." She's still nice to hang out with, though, so it's not a total loss. Damn she's cute, though... disappointing.
My first interview up in NYC was also kind of a disappointment. I think I did ok, but the job didn't do so hot. The place seemed kind of dull, and the people pretty unexceptional. To be honest, every single place I've been has asserted that it's full of "really intelligent people," and the words have begun to fall on deaf ears, especially since it usually turns out to be like this place: basically pretty average, and possibly below the average I was used to in college. Of course, the fact is that most work doesn't really require much intelligence. At any rate, I'm crossing my fingers even harder for Google after seeing this place... That's this coming Thursday, and it's the last step in the process, for better or worse.
