Been kinda busy lately, thus the lack of updating. Funny how the only times I have anything interesting for the journal, I don't have time to update it.

Anyway, as usual, I just don't feel like writing a whole drawn-out narrative, so I'll sort of condense it into a few bullet points here.

I did get a chance to see V For Vendetta a couple of weeks back (shortly after my last entry). It's spectacular: it looks like yet another action-film rip-off of the Matrix, but it's actually a well-scripted and -acted drama. Natalie Portman does a really got job acting, and an equally good job looking hot with a shaved head. Either of those is worth $9 on its own merits, I feel, and both together is a pretty good deal. Plus, the whole movie is hilarious if you pretend that Hugo Weaving's character is going to turn into Agent Smith at any moment.

I also attended the wedding of my college room-mate, Tim. I'll get some pictures up once they're developed. Being in the wedding was nothing special as far as anecdotes go. I basically just walked in with a bridesmaid, stood there for a while, and then walked out with a bridesmaid. It's a good thing, though, as Tim's brother insisted all the groomsmen do double shot of vodka beforehand "for good luck." For some background, I am not a large, heavy person, and I didn't have any breakfast that day, so I was kinda drunk through the ceremony. Thus, it's probably better that my duties were so limited.

The reception was pretty dull--I had to sit up at that small table for the wedding party. While it's technically an honor, I guess, it's more like being segregated from everyone else. That's ok, though, as I really didn't know anyone else there. I'm loosely acquainted with Tim's other friends, but that's about it.

In stark contrast to the reception, though, was the after-party. (Sounds redundant, and perhaps it was, but Tim and his new wife Michele hosted their friends up in the bridal suite all night, since "we've already 'consummated' plenty of times.") It was exactly the kind of relaxed social situation I enjoy, and I was lucky enough to have a chance to talk to a girl named Sarita who was a friend of Michele's and the bridesmaids'. Long story short, we went back to her room at the hotel and I had my first one-night stand, which was an interesting experience. The differential in intimacy between the night before and the morning after is jarring, and I wasn't really sure what to say at breakfast the next day. Not to say I regret it (she's easily one of the hottest girls I've ever seen: watching her walk to the bathroom nude is my new favorite visual memory), but I'm not sure it's something I'd want to do all that often.

This past weekend, I had a dinner with my high school friends. Nothing remarkable there, but it's nice to be fully adopted into the group, and be invited to this sort of thing. It's still annoying that they don't have any attractive single women among them, but with Sarita and Aaraa, I haven't wanted for attractive new female company lately. (Not to imply I had anything sexual with Aaraa--I didn't. Like she said, though, it's nice to be out meeting people whether anything comes of it or not.)

Which brings us to the near-future news: By this time next week, I will be on my way to Vietnam! Ask nicely and I'll bring you back something.

Oh, and Happy Easter to anyone who's a practicing, non-Orthodox Christian. Or who just likes Marshmallow Peeps. (Guess which camp I'm in!)
