thought some may enjoy this list included in my readings concerning the Carolingian civilization:

A LIST OF SUPERSTITIONS AND PAGAN PRACTICES

1. Of sacrilege at the graves of the dead.
2. Of sacrilege over the departed, that is, "dadsisas."
3. Of the swinish feasts in February.
4. Of the little houses, that is, sancutaries.
5. Of sacrilegious acts in connection with churches.
6. Of the sacred rites of the woods which they call "nimidas."
7. Of those things which they do upon stones. (One of my favorites)
8. Of the sacred rites of Mercury and of Jupiter.
9. Of the sacrifice which is offered to any of the saints.
10. Of amulets and knots.
11. Of the fountains of sacrifices.
12. Of incantations.
13. Of auguries, the dung or sneezing of birds or of horses or of cattle.

30. Of this: that they believe that women command the moon that they may be able to take away the hearts of men, according to the pagans. (that one's true though, isn't it?)
