The panel discussion event went OK. We had the guy from MTV and the guy from the BBC who's also a musician, and the guy who used to work for the BBC but doesn't any more, and the academic who writes about pop music. They all got on. They discussed. Everyone listened. At the end they thanked me and I got embarassed and slid down in my chair. Everyone said they enjoyed it. They milled aroud having drinks and all the students tried to get jobs, and I marvelled at how *good* some people are at that kind of thing. Even in heels.

Afterwards, we went to dinner with the speakers, and the rest of them talked about things like "what would you have played at your funeral?" and "What possession could you never live without?" and told very amusing stories about unlikely and/or scandalous things that had happened to their friends.

I'm rotten at dinner party converstion (actually, most kinds of conversation), so I played the part of the sullen, tounge-tied teenager, occasionally mumbling "Bird on a Wire and Touch Me I'm Sick".

At least they didn't mention London property prices, I suppose. Small blessings.

But, yeah, stuff goes on. It does, doesn't it?

See?

There it went.

oh i just dont know about razorlight..i mean, they seem ok, but why do SO many people seem to like them THAT much..? it just confuses me

panel discussion eh? of course we have hardly ever spoken so i havent a clue what it was about or where it was, but i'd like to think that you were wearing those half-moon spectacles at the end of your nose, and overseeing the proceedings with an iron grip

seriously though, its always good when public speaking stuff goes well, so thats good
