And so this is Christmas, and what have I done
another year older, and a new one to be strung
across a brief landscape
of promise and fear
the lofty intentions
so far and so near

And so this is Christmas, though worthy not all
to take from the bread line
to widen the sprawl

and your dear and sincere ones
