On December 2004, the US military disclosed documents which showed speculation about developing a so-called "gay bomb", an aphrodisiac chemical which would demoralize enemy troops by inducing sexual behavior, especially homosexual behavior -- similar to the effect allegedly produced by homokaasu. The report implicitly admitted that no such chemical was known to exist by listing it under "New Discoveries Needed"; at present only one known chemical, Bremelanotide (formerly PT-141), is considered a true aphrodisiac (increasing sexual desire, not merely sexual function) and it is not known to affect sexual orientation.
