Well hello there...
So, I'm a rather positive person, especially at work, even amidst all of the negativity that seems to floating around the unit. There's always a bright side, things will get better, this is just a rough time, THIS AIN'T NOTHIN'... However, days like today are the ones that start to get to me. I put some decent leg work into getting some good training opportunities in place, send up questions and request to the proper chains, await patiently for a reply. Then people who are jaded by the system and the way things have happened before just decide to not action it based on what they think has happened in the past and what might happen. No effort, just straight out no, don't even bother, won't happen, no budget for it. These are the same people who keep complaining that it sucks and things are never going to change.
ACCEPTING THAT THE PAST IS THE FUTURE IS WHY THINGS DON'T CHANGE!
If someone wants to put in the effort to initiate some change, let it happen, if it fails, oh well, an attempt was made. Live and learn. Get up and try again.
I love my job, I'm good at it, there is more potential than even I realize. This is a good life, I'm well taken care of. The sacrifices are worth the hardships. Don't stand in the way of someone that wants to make a change that will benefit and help others. Don't feel scared of it. Don't feel less because it wasn't you. Enjoy the ride. Happiness is infectious.
