the sunlight shines down and warms my face.
"it's been quiet around here." i say, slowly rocking in my favorite chair on my wrap around porch.
"i haven't been gone that long, have i?" she whispers back to me. taking a deep breath in, she closes her eyes and puts her feet up on the railing. "ooooh.... it's so great to be back on this porch. i love this weather, this house. i love you."
a cool breeze flutters my skirt and runs through my hair. "i love you too," i tell her softly, "but you're dead, and you need not haunt me."
