Last week I did a blog homework set by @rambo @missy & @lyxzen about my favourite smartphone app. I promised to do a follow up about my 2nd favourite smartphone app, so here it is 🐱🐱🐱
The aim of Neko Atsume is to collect cats, by tempting them into your yard with food, toys & super comfy bedding!
You start with a small yard & some fish, which are used to buy food, toys & other goodies that you put in the yard. Cats visit your yard to eat, play & nap & when they leave they gift you some fish (whatever amount they deem worthy). Some cats are far more generous than others, Tubbs, for example, eats all your food, but leaves you loads of fish!!
If you invest wisely you will earn enough fish to buy a yard expansion which doubles the size of the yard so you can put out more toys & food and attract more cats 🐱🐱🐱
If you keep saving you can even buy a lovely remodel for your yard; pretty themes such as Western, Zen & Modern 🌵🎍🌳
There are so many cool goodies to put in your yard, my favourites are the sheep cushion (how effin cute is Cocoa face down in that cushion???), the Pile of Leaves (omg Smokey!), the Kotatsu (so many kitties enjoying the warmth!!) & the scratching post (Pepper is so adorable when scratching away at that board!)
Obviously the cool goodies & yard remodels are all just background to the heroes of the game...the cats!
Currently there are 49 cats to collect; 32 moggies & 17 "special breed". When a cat visits your yard you can take its picture (sooo cute!) and save the picture to your cat album; the cat album features pictures of the cats & tells you their most used goodies, power levels, personality types and so on.
The rare breed cats are harder to collect; they only visit for specific, expensive goodies and they don't come around as often as the regular moggies.
All the cats are absolutely awesome, but here is a very small selection of my favourites... (Saint Purrtrick is my all time favourite 😍)
When a cat has visited your yard many times they will leave you a memento as a sign of appreciation for your ongoing hospitality. I absolutely love getting mementoes, especially as the ones left by regular moggies are akin to the sorts of things my real cats would bring me!! My personal favourites are the cicada skin left by Shadow, the aluminium pins left by Pumpkin, the flower bookmark left by Marshmallow & the pretty stones left by Xerxes IX.
This game is super popular among the kitty-loving community, and that shows in the massive amount of merch, food, art & crafts that are made in its honour. Here are some of my favourite Neko Atsume themed things...
