I am really passionate about style and, as with all things in life, as far as fashion goes I pretty much just march to the beat of my own drum.

When buying clothes or putting together an outfit I ask "is this me?" There are a wide range of indicators as to what is/isn't me and what will/won't suit me; cut, colour, material, fit and of course, the overall look of the outfit or piece. One thing I've learned and had to accept as I've grown up is that there are many beautiful pieces & styles that I simply cannot wear because they just aren't me. It's hard to articulate, but basically amounts to clothes that I don't feel comfortable in, or that I feel say something that I do not intend to say (clear as mud, right?)

Anyhoo, rather than mourning the skater skirts, wrap dresses & ballet shoes in which I will never look good, let's consider what styles I can pull off...

I love, love, love, love, love pencil skirts & dresses. I think being short, figure hugging styles are very flattering, and those just below to just above the knee show the full length of the calf, which again, I find very attractive. Boots with a platform & chunky heel give me a bit of height (also slimming me down) but are practical and comfortable enough to get through an 8 hour work day! I also can't go wrong with cute sporty pumps...I like contrast and feel they are a gorgeous little contrast to formal skirts & shirts.

I am also a tad obsessed with hold ups & tights...but what goes on under workwear is a whole other blog!

When I'm not at work I wear a lot of the same dresses & skirts but get rid of the work-appropriate accessories; switching cardigans, long-sleeved shirts & opaque tights for more fun accessories; fishnet stockings, latex braces, skull necklaces...you get the picture.

In addition to legs, I also find backs incredibly sexy so I like to wear something backless or with a low back whenever I can!
