I'm into tidal ecology, just not professionally. At least not yet. I read book about the near shore ecology of monterey bay called "A Living Bay" and I've got several field guides for looking up the critters that I photograph. I also volunteer at the marine mammal center (www.tmmc.org) but my real intrest is cephalopods. I'm reading a book on cephalopod behavior right now. I read just about everything I can find about deep sea squid.
I'm going back to school in February so I can learn how to pilot submersible Remotely Operated Vehicles. I really want to work at Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. I'm considering trying to get a marine biology degree as well but I'm not sure exactly how I'd pay for that.
Your occupation says field biologist. Whatcha doin'?
