Yay trivia.
Team The Latter-Day Taints up into third. We're coming back up bitches.
Wierdest thing happend on my way home. As I was pulling onto hiway 93, I decided to stomp on it to have a little fun and burn out some carbon. I ran up through first and second, shifting at 7500. When I went to slam it into third though, the shift felt perfect but the car didnt do anything. Engine revved but the car didnt accelerate. This kinda freaked me out so I promptly let off of everything and slowed down. My first thought was "oh shit, I missed third and slammed it into first and probably blew out the gear." When I tried to pull the shifter out of 'third' something stuck. It took a decent amount of force to pull it back into neutral. Now that I had slowed down, I carefully checked all the gears and everything seemed just fine. All the gears responded normally. My best guess is that the stops in the tranny are worn badly enough so that I actually slammed it past third. The shifter was far enough above where third should have been that the gear actually wasnt engaged. The stuck feeling when I tried to pull it out was probably the gear having to reengage first before it could slide back out into neutral. Wierd.
This just reenforces the fact that I need to get my other tranny rebuilt so I can swap them out.
