Giving talks is a large part of my job. I usually dont get very nervous about them, and I often dont rehearse beforehand - I know my research subject area pretty well and have usually given some version of the talk before. Well, tomorrow I have to give a talk to a large audience that will include pretty much EVERY SINGLE BIGWIG who is SUPER IMPORTANT to my career, 90% of whom have never seen me speak before, and 85% of whom dont know much about me. So this will be their big opportunity to form an impression about me, my research, my intelligence, my speaking ability, my potential to make a name for myself in my field, etc., etc. Thats all, no pressure.

AND, if that wasnt nerve-wracking enough, a super-smart, well-known and well-respected researcher I have a crush on will be there. I want him to think that I am cute, and charming, AND really smart. I think I can pull off the cute part, and possibly the charming, but the really smart . . . god I hope so! again!

Lets get back to my porn empire, thats a much more fun (& less nerve wracking) topic. Lets see, weve got jollyexecutioner as a star (you still working on costars?), keutip as a script writer, MrStars as my boy toy bitch, Zode as an investor and R&D consultant, sg_old_dog as a personal assistant and fluffer, Runk in R&D, and commonman in charge of the Porn for Polite People division. (hee, hee, that still makes me giggle). That's an excellent start . . .
