Let's talk about some current events. How do you feel about women's suffrage?
Really, women just aren't suffering enough these days. - C.T.
1. The Gatsby Party was pretty damn fun. It was interesting seeing some outfits the Ladies and Gentlemen came up with. I had a blast dressing for the occasion, feather boa and all. If you could imagine a mop of curls on my head, that would be it -- an anomoly that hasn't been seen since that bad perm job in junior high. I managed to stay completely sober and by the end of the night, or morning, I was swimming naked in the pool with a few guys and gals. Fun times, indeed.
2. She puzzles me. It's too late now, but I wonder if being semi-wasted would have made a difference in my actions. Courage in a bottle is not always the best bet, though.
3. I miss my kitty, Stupid. The research paper process hasn't even started and it's due on Thursday. I'll be staying in the hills for a handful of days and nights -- it's up to me to keep all animals and vegetation alive. She's so beautiful I have to remind myself not to stare. The dye in my hair is fading and the woman who does it is leaving for England. With every yawn I'm reminded that Time stands still for no one.
4. Last night's show was amazing. Calexico and Neko Case were in my town. Holy shit, man. I bought her CD last night and I absolutely adore it. That woman has one hell of a voice. Some guy started making small talk with me and after the show, he asked me out for dinner. I probably crushed his ego when I responded with, 'this isn't really a good week, sorry.' To which he responded, 'what about the next?' And I says, 'well, I really don't know yet.' Could I be a bigger asshole?
