So, I'm in New Zealand now, trying to put together a master update. In my short time in 'Zed', Auckland seems like the place for me, despite the empty jazz festival and how early I went to bed (although I did arrive at 6am). From what I hear, Wellington is a lot more of a hip community, but the weather isn't nearly as nice. I don't know if the NZ dollar is going to be enough to keep me here for any extended period of time (i.e. > 2 or 3 years), instead planting me in Sydney if I decide I still haven't seen enough of this side of the world, or in London or Germany if I end up chasing a valuable dollar.

Accents aren't as sexy when you are asking people to repeat themselves. On the journey from Auckland to Keri (big surprise, things have a way of being chopped off), the gas station cashier asked me a question about my vest I explained that it was for motorcycles and that I used it for travel; he then continued on saying maybe three words I understood, so I said "yeah." Driving on the opposite side of the road isn't all that difficult to get used to, the hardest thing is adjusting to width perception.

I'm in kind of a small community, which is a pretty big stretch for me. People here to slow down, and supposedly it gives you more time? I am already getting sick of having to cook all the damn time... something tells me there's a lot of cottage cheese, tuna, cold cuts, and raw oats in my future. Then again, who am I kidding, there's a lot of those in my present. It sounds as though the population has doubled over the last couple of years, and with businesses such as the one I joined moving this direction it's primed to do so again. We'll see if I last that long, but don't fret, I can have fun anywhere.
