Umm, update:

I should have all my bike parts by this weekend, at an approximate cost of $460. Could be worse. All the work led me to fix my wishlist, and take off many of the things that I don't need in favor of tools that actually can help. I'm getting sick of going "Goddammit, I need that!"

Can't wait till my girl is all fixed up. Meanwhile I'm taking things a step slower and trying to build up confidence again. And I now stay far far away from cagers. Especially big ones that I can't see around. Gah!

I might have a new job next month. I've interviewed at two group homes that serve SED (Severely Emotionally Disturbed) children. These are the kids who are in the foster system, who've been beaten, raped, abused, and have a whole bevy of problems as a result. I'd be a Residential Caretaker, or essentially an extra parent. It's a hands on facility, meaning I'll get trained to restrain the child safely.

It'll be a ton of work; full time hours, I hope, for not a whole lot more pay, extremely demanding and stressful, but at least my money problems will work out just a bit more. And I'll actually feel like I'm accomplishing something. These kids need somebody in their life to care about them so badly, and I want to do it.

Wish me luck with the interviews!

Good luck (err I think) with those interviews, I only hesitate coz some of the kids I work with come from care / foster homes and I know what a messed up situation they live in. Having been to numerous hostels / homes / residential homes I can quite safely say that I'm glad I grew up where I did - thanx Mr & Mrs Ben wink

On a completely different note, it seems funny that you call a bike a 'she' when I'd imagin that 'he' would be right - in an opposite gender-y kinda way whatever

Hint of the day on tools - buy decent kit, as cheap shit tools often break real fast and nearly always result in you twatting your fingers eeek eeek mad mad

Hope I made some sense - I'm very drunk biggrin
